EDUCATIONAL ASSESSMENT

It's a unique combination of standardised assessments and personal interviews that gives us a detailed, comprehensive profile of your child's strengths and weaknesses.In our child-friendly premises, children can work comfortably and reveal their full potential.

What's involved?
Children are given an academic assessment which is administered individually. This consists of several standardised tests and reveals the child's level of achievement in reading, spelling, decoding, and maths. A standardised test is used because it compares a child with hundreds of other children of the same age . The child is made to feel at ease to obtain an accurate performance score. These tests are used to establish a base line from which to work once the child is enrolled. A report is written up, and the parents are invited back to discuss the results.
Conference with Parents
The child's parents and the Director discuss the child's performance and decide the programme-Reading, Maths, or both- that best addresses the needs of the child. The usual length is 18 weeks during school term or 6 weeks (coming twice a week) over the summer. The performance levels of the child determine the recommended duration. If a child wants to advance 1 year, one programme should be more than sufficient to bring the child along. If a child needs to advance more than 1 and 1/2 years in maths or reading, then more than one programme may be necessary.
